My Holiday
My Holiday
During my semester break, i spent my time by going to a few places. About a week after my final exam-- on the 20th of December to be exact, I went to Dufan with my classmates : Aira, Haura, Najla, Novelia, and Restu. We arrived in Ancol around 10 am. The car ride was surprisingly fast because it only took us about 2 hours from Bandung to Ancol. In Dufan, we rode a lot of rides. My favorite rides so far are Baling-baling (Propeller) and Kereta Misteri (Train of Mystery). On the next day, we extended our holiday. It was supposed to be a 2 day holiday, but we extended it. So, we were there for 3 days. We moved from Ancol to South Jakarta. In South Jakarta, we went shopping in Pondok Indah Mall and went out to eat in Blok M.
After we got back home from Jakarta, we received our report cards. Then, on December 27th, me and my family went back to Jakarta again. We used train for our transportation. We went to Jakarta because me and my sister were going to watch a concert in Gelora Bung Karno. It was a K-Pop group named Seventeen. We arrived in Jakarta around 1 pm and headed straight to our hotel. Our hotel is very close from the venue and we could see them from our balcony. Me and my sister were very excited. We took an hour break to explore our hotel, then me and my sister walked to the venue to exchange our ticket. It was a very long and exhausting que because there were so many people. We waited for 3 hours just to exchange our ticket but it was worth it because we met a lot of people and made a few friends. The next day was concert day. The day I've been dreaming of for a long time. Me and my sister got ready and walked to Gelora Bung Karno around 2 pm. The gate was open at 3 pm. As soon as we got to the venue, we took a lot of photos. All the people there was so nice including the staffs and security. We walked to the playground and there were foods and beverages but we didn't buy any because it was a long que and we were still full. 4 hours had passed, and finally the show was about to start. I could here chants and cheers from all sides of the stadium. My section was so far away from the stage but I could still feel the warmth during the concert. It was truly a day to remember and memories that I will treasure forever.
We got back around 10.30 to 11-ish pm. We ate Padangnese food and took a hot bath to relax ourselves. The next morning around 7 am, we got ready to go to Bali. It was our first plane ride after the pandemic so we were excited. In Bali, I stayed at my aunt's place for around 4 days in Canggu. We went to Kuta Beach and played around with dogs. We also ate a really good Mexican food in Poppy Lane and found a great burger store in there called Burger Q Legian. I spent my new years in Kuta Beach with my family, ate dinner, and play with fireworks at my aunt's place. On the 1st of January, We moved to Ubud. Ubud was very artsy and aesthetically pleasing. It was very peaceful and not as hot as in Kuta or Canggu. In Ubud, we went to Antonio Blanco's Gallery, bought souvenirs, and accidentally found a really good dumpling place in an alley. Then, we went to see the Kecak dance even though we already seen it multiple times before but it was still very exciting. After spending 3 days in Ubud, we went back to Kuta. In the evening, we went to Discovery Mall to see the beach. I stayed there in silence because i was too mesmerized by the waves and the sand. I always fond nature and everything within. It's my way to appreciate them for giving us a beautiful life to live.
The next day, it was our last day in Bali. We went to have breakfast at the beach again and went to our favorite burger place in Poppy Lane. There were a lot of dogs so I had a great time playing with them because i'm such a dog person. After that, we went to Kuta beach to spent our last time in Bali. Funnily, when we arrived at the beach, there was a thunderstorm suddenly appeared. The trees were shaking and the waves were so big. We went inside to wash our dirty feet and dry our body, but when I stepped outside, the rain suddenly stopped and the weather turned hot again.
The next morning, I packed my luggages and went to the airport at around 12 PM. When we arrived in Hussein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, I feel so welcomed by the city. It was like the city itself longed for me when I was away. As soon as my feet touched the ground, my dad picked us up. I went to my favorite seblak place near Junior Highschool 7 and ate all Bandung's signature foods because how much I missed it.
That was all for my semester break. I really enjoyed every second of it. Thank you for reading.
